For Windows, Windows 7 Gadgets are virtually unchanged from Vista. But Vista Sidebar is gone. Instead, the device now appears only on the desktop, and can be hosted inside the visible side-bar climbed. Also, unlike Vista, Windows 7 Gadgets not appear on the desktop by default, it is necessary to enable them first.

Adding Gadgets to the Desktop
You have access to Windows 7 Gadgets in Windows 7 Gadget Gallery. You can launch this application from the Start menu (just type gad Search from the Start menu) or by right-clicking on the desktop and choose Gadgets from the pop-up menu that appears. (If you already have one or more devices appearing on the desktop, you can also right-click and select Add device device, resulting in pop-up menu.)
There are two ways to add the device to your desktop:
Double-click the device in the Windows 7 Gadget Gallery. When you do this, the device is placed in the top right corner of your desktop. The following gadgets are added down the right side of the screen. So if you were to add three gadgets using this method.
Drag and drop the device on your desktop When you add devices to your desktop using this method, to sit where they were let go.

Removing Gadgets
Remove the gadget desktop, but right-clicking it and selecting Close the gadget. Or mouse gadget and click the small Close button. This system does not remove the gadget, of course. You have the opportunity to re-add any removed gadgets Add gadgets to your window later.
